The fuel injection system (20) comprises a housing (10) with two side openings (22) and a further side with a further opening (12). There is a switch valve in the housing as well as a throttle return valve (30). Control pressure stems from either a work valve (25) or (26) via the switch valve through the throttle return valve. The switch valve may have two switch positions, with one of the two opened in the side openings and sealed in the other opening. The control pressure may be channelled via two different work valves with different volume flows. The throttle return valve may be arranged between the switch valve and a load and be connected with a further opening that leads to the load.
