The damper has furniture masses (11) e.g. cabinet, in a building utilized as supporting masses, which implement a translatory or rotary movement in a horizontal direction by rolls, oscillators and springs. Adjustable resonance frequency and adjustable loss factors are formed by spring units and a damping unit which is provided between the supporting masses and the building. A clamp fixes the furniture masses in a resting case. An additional damping unit is inserted in the damper.
