A safety syringe and a method for disposing of the same are provided to prevent a person handling the syringe from being pierced by the injection needle and being infected after completion of the injection. A safety syringe includes an injection needle(20), a cylinder(40), a protection cap(12,14,16), and a plunger(30). The cylinder receives the injection liquid supplied to the injection needle. The protection cap is coupled to the cylinder, encloses a part of the injection needle, and protects plural sub protection caps. The plunger is coupled to the cylinder to be able to be slid inside the cylinder and to give pressures to the protection cap from the end of the cylinder. The protection cap has a structure in which the sub protection caps are stretched by being slid. When the pressure of the plunger is transmitted to the protection cap, the protection cap encloses the injection needle.
