FUEL SUPPLY APPARATUS OF ENGINE

A fuel supply apparatus of an engine is provided to prevent waste of energy by controlling a pump discharge pressure at a constant level with no error such that operation of a fuel pump is minimized. A fuel supply apparatus includes fuel supply pipelines(9A,9B) extended from a fuel tank(2) and has a front end with an injector(8); a fuel pump(3) mounted on the fuel supply pipeline; and an electronic control unit(10) in which a fuel supply control program for controlling an electric motor(3a) and the injector is stored. The fuel supply pipelines are equipped with a pressure sensor(11) for detecting a fuel pressure at a predetermined position of a lower stream of the fuel pump of the fuel supply pipeline and outputting the pressure to the electronic control unit. The electronic control unit feedback-controls operation of the fuel pump and maintains a fuel injection pressure at a constant level by calculating and instructing the minimum operation of the electric motor required for maintaining the target fuel injection pressure on the basis of the fuel pressure value sensed by the pressure sensor.
