A method for manufacturing nickel powder is provided to form the fine nickel powder with high crystallization and uniform particle size and to manufacture a raw material easily without controlling a reaction condition, a dispersion condition, and the particle size of the raw material closely. In a method for manufacturing nickel powder, a dissolved solution of nitrate nickel hydrate is induced to a heated reaction vessel as liquid droplets or a liquid flow. A thermal decomposition is performed under oxygen partial pressure which is lower than equilibrium oxygen partial pressure of nickel-nickel oxide at temperature over 1200 degrees in a gas phase. The oxygen partial pressure is under 10^-2 Pa. A reducing agent is included in the dissolved solution of the nitrate nickel hydrate.
