A slot device (10) for holding a portable device (2) that communicates with a controller installed in a vehicle. The slot device includes a retainer (31) for retaining the portable device (2), a shutter (41) for closing the retainer (31), and a spring (51) received in a spring receptacle for urging the shutter (41) to close the retainer (31). The spring (51) is supported in an inclined state to contact the inner surface of the spring receptacle and prevent vibrations and noise.
