The device has a hemispherical wall (6) with an access opening (9) and delimited at its upper part by a tubular plate (5) crossed by vertical holes (4). A rail (11) has fixation units on lower side of the plate, supports a carriage (15) displaceable along the rail and is equipped with a pendular lifting unit (19). A robotic arm (20) has a fixation base (30) with gripping units on the lower surface of the plate on both sides of the rail. A driving unit cooperates with the unit (19) for hooking a fixation base against the plate. An independent claim is also included for a method of intervening a water box of a heat exchanger.
