An immunochemically active preparation comprises a polystyrene or polystyrene derivative whose benzene rings along its polymer chains have active side groups, an immunochemically inactive hydrophilic macro-molecular substance cross-linking the polymer chains between active groups, and an immunochemically active protein attached to remaining active groups along the polymer chains. The cross-linking may be via diazo, isothiocyanate or mercury containing groups to immunochemically inactive proteins or polysaccharides such as aminophenyl or hydroxyphenyl starches or celluloses (in particular bovine serum albumin). The immunochemically active protein may be an antibody to which its specific antigen is coupled (in particular antibody g -globulin) and may be attached to unaffected active groups or modified unaffected active groups (in particular to isothiocyanate groups).ALSO:An immunochemically active preparation comprises a polystyrene or polystyrene derivative whose benzene rings along its polymer chains have active side groups, an immunochemically inactive hydrophilic macromolecular substance cross-linking the polymer chains between active groups, and an immunochemically active protein attached to remaining active groups along the polymer chains.
