An organic thin film transistor array substrate and a fabricating method thereof are provided to prevent damage or deterioration of an organic semiconductor layer of an organic thin film transistor. A data line and a gate line(152) crossing the data line are formed on a substrate(151). A source electrode(160) is connected to the data line. A drain electrode(162) is separated at a constant interval from the source electrode. An organic semiconductor layer is positioned on a region separated from the source electrode and the drain electrode in order to form a channel. An organic gate insulating layer(174) having the same pattern as the pattern of the organic semiconductor layer is formed on the organic semiconductor layer. A gate electrode(158) is overlaid on the organic semiconductor layer formed on the organic gate insulating layer. A gate photoresist pattern(175) is formed on the gate electrode. A pixel electrode(176) is connected to the drain electrode.
