The engine control system has a mode-selection switch with an operation knob that is operated for selectively switching between several control modes such as normal mode, save mode and power mode. The normal mode is selected with ON operation of a left side switch, while the power mode is selected with the ON operation of the right side switch. The save mode is selected by pushing the operation knob in the downward direction and performing ON operation of the push switch.
