A planar light source unit having flexibility using a film type light guide plate and a display device using the same are provided to reduce the thickness of the planar light source and supply a light corresponding to the decreased thickness by forming a lens reflecting and emitting light and a planar light source having a thickness thinner than a light source and coupled to the lens to perform planar light emission upon receiving light emitted from the lens. A light source(10) generates and emits light. A lens(20) is coupled to the light source, reflects therein light emitted from the light source, and then emits the light to the outside. A planar light source(30) has a thinner thickness than the light source, is coupled with the lens, and receives light emitted from the lens to perform planar light emission. The planar light source has an end portion inserted into the lens.
