A method and a system for providing an alarm service according to the arrival of a shuttle bus are provided to allow a user in movement to receive an alarm message for the arrival expectation of the shuttle bus. GPS position data of each station in which a shuttle bus is stopped are obtained. Station use information of each user and call information of a mobile communication terminal of each user are stored. A present position of the shuttle bus is recognized through a GPS signal generated from a satellite. The present position is compared with the position of each station positioned in a forwarding direction of the shuttle bus and it is determined that the difference between the present position and the position of each station is within a threshold value. Information according to the running of the shuttle bus is transmitted to a mobile terminal of the user through an SMS if it is determined that the distance is smaller than the threshold value.
