A tool capable of cutting through cable sheathing and circumferentially cutting around the cables reinforcing wires, comprises two adjustably opposed jaws 12, 14, one supporting a pair of rollers 24, 26, the other supporting a statically mounted blade 10 facing the rollers, preferably providing means (fig. 4 52, 54) of limiting the depth of blade penetration. The blade 10 is preferably; a saw blade; removable; adjustable to vary cutting depth; or fixed in one position. One jaw 12 is preferably u-shaped, the other fixed and supporting whichever one of the rollers or blade the other jaw is not. The distance between jaws may be varied via a screw thread and knob arrangement. In another embodiment, each jaw is similarly arced at just less than 180{ one end of each jaw being coupled at a hinge so as to be able to receive a cable, before closing to penetrate it. A method of rotating the tool around a cable, clamped between jaws, also describes the tools function. |
