摘要 A method of estimating damping force of a semi-active damper is provided to control a required damping force precisely by considering the damping force as state variables to estimate sizes of damping forces generated at every instant by outputting a final compensated required damping force obtained by performing logical operation on a calculated required damping force and an estimated damping force estimate. A method of estimating damping force of a semi-active damper comprises the steps of calculating a required damping force from an estimate of a vehicle body state and a reference value(ref), estimating the damping force for compensating the calculated required damping force, and outputting a compensated final required damping force(u) obtained by performing a logical operation on the calculated required damping force and the damping force estimate. An estimator for estimating the damping force includes an input matrix unit(Bn) performing operation with inputted estimated value for the damping force, and an output matrix unit(Cn) performing operation on the inputted outputs from the input matrix, a system matrix(An), and a value obtained by performing integral operation on a gain vector and outputting the result. The semi-active damper is a hydraulic CDC damper or a MR CDC damper.
