A liquid crystal device, a control circuit therefor, and an electronic apparatus are provided to enhance image quality by preventing image sticking from being generated in an area scan driving scheme. A controller(50) controls a liquid crystal device including a data line driving circuit, which adjusts a voltage of a data signal to high or low levels according to scan line conditions. A counter(53) counts the number of horizontal lines of an image signal. A determining circuit(59) determines magnitude between the number of horizontal lines and a stored value in a predetermined register. An add/subtract circuit(55) adds or subtracts the stored value as much as predetermined numbers according to the determination result of the determining circuit. A scan control circuit(51) stores the added or subtracted values in a register and sets a start timing of a field based on the stored value in the register.
