A wireless charging apparatus with an over-current monitoring device is provided to stabilize a charging area of the apparatus by detecting the current applied to a primary coil to detect metallic defects. A wireless charging apparatus with an over-current monitoring device includes a power supply part(110), a primary coil(130), a power driving part(120), and a current monitoring part(140). The power supply unit supplies necessary power to drive the wireless charging apparatus by using commercial power. The primary coil induces charging power. The power driving part converts the power applied from the power supply part, and applies high frequency AC current to the primary coil. The current monitoring part controls the power driving part by referring to the current value applied to the primary coil.
