An automotive side object detection system, and a tire, a tire wheel, or a wheel cover for the system are provided to prevent an accident caused by contacting an obstacle with low height. An automotive side object detection system(100) comprises a sensor unit(10), a receiving circuit(20), a control unit(40), a display unit(50), an operation unit(70), and a speaker(60). The sensor unit is mounted at an outer surface of a side for a tire, the outer surface of a tire wheel, and the outer surface of a wheel cover, to send and receive ultrasonic waves. The receiving circuit filters and amplifies information on the ultrasonic waves sent from the sensor unit. The control unit receives the filtered and amplified information from the receiving circuit and controls the information by a programmed Central Processing Unit(CPU). The display unit shows the distance information according to an output signal from the control unit. The operation unit operates the control unit. The speaker generates sound or an alarming signal according to the output signal from the control unit.
