A home appliance for home networks and a home network system using the same are provided to correspond to various kinds of home network systems by providing plural interface modems corresponding to various kinds of home networks. A home appliance for home networks comprises a main body(300) and a plurality of interface modems(410-430). The main body(300) is connected to a selected one among various communication networks having respectively different communication protocols. The interface modems(410-430), installed at the main body(300), connect the main body(300) to the selected communication network. The interface modems(410-430) respectively correspond to the communication networks having respectively different communication protocols. The main body(300), as an interface modem corresponding to the selected communication network is installed, detects the installed interface modem and supplies corresponding power according to the type of the interface modem.
