<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adaptively supply power to a device connected to a printer, in the printer capable of supplying power to the device wire-connected with the printer via a wire connection. <P>SOLUTION: A control method for a printer controls a PD printer 1000 which is wire-connected to a digital still camera DMC3012 and has a connecting means for supplying power to the DMC via the wired connection. The control method includes: a judging process S506 for judging whether to supply power to the DMC via the connecting means when the DMC is connected to the connecting means; and a setting process S511 for setting the DMC to supply power via the connecting means when the DMC is connected to the connecting means, and when it is judged in the judging process that the power is supplied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
