PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check effectively and correctly whether a supplied component has arrived with a little man-hours even if the component number of the supplied component such as a connector housing has changed. SOLUTION: The apparatus for checking a supplied component 1 comprises a cradle 3 having an through hole 4 connected to a recess 8 for receiving a component 2, a light emitting device 6 for radiating a wide laser beam 5 toward the through hole, and a light receiving device 7 for receiving a narrow laser beam 5a having passed through the through hole, wherein various cradles according to component numbers of components have holes of the same size formed therein. The hole of each cradle is positioned within the range of the width of the wide laser beam. The hole is provided on the side of a deep end 8a of a recess portion. The various cradles are prepared according to the component numbers of the components, the hole 4 of the same size for checking the component is provided in a predetermined position of the cradle, the hole of the cradle is positioned within the range of the width L of the wide laser beam 5 from the light emitting device 6 and the wide laser beam is radiated toward the hole of the cradle, thereby checking whether the component has reached.
