PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means and a method for acquiring sequentially time-serial information from one cell or from a cell population. SOLUTION: This sensor for detecting cell activity is provided with at least two kinds or more of detecting particles, and detects a substance derived from the activity of the cell. The each detecting particle contains a detecting component indicating optical characteristics, in response to the detecting substance, and the kinds of the detecting particles are different, in response to kinds of the detecting components.
