PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of stably supplying a large amount of paper sheets. SOLUTION: A conveyor belt 104 supplies paper sheets P to the horizontal direction and a holding part 100B stacks and holds the paper sheets P in the gravity direction. Due to this structure, an approximately equal number of the paper sheets P are all the time placed on the lowest paper sheet P in the holding part 100B regardless of the number of replenished paper sheets. Therefore, load received by the lowest paper sheet P is approximately constant, and the lowest paper sheet P can be pulled out by a lower roller 108 with a little resistance, which can suppress discharge troubles etc. In addition, the length of the conveyor belt 104 can be elongated as far as the space permits. Thus, since an operator can replenish a large amount of paper sheets P once, labor of the operator can be reduced by virtue of elongation in the replenishment cycle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
