PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device and an image forming device capable of certainly feeding sheet without making it large in size. SOLUTION: A paper surface detection mechanism 49 for detecting an upper surface of the sheets S stacked on a tray is constituted by sensors 54, 55 arranged at a position out of a suction conveying part 50A; a rockable sensor flag 52 for turning the sensors 54, 55 ON/OFF; and a sheet surface detection member 61 provided in parallel with the sheets S stacked on the tray, abutted on the upper surface of the sheet S, moved in a vertical direction while rocking the sensor flag 52 and turning the sensors 54, 55 ON/OFF through the sensor flag 52.
