PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner, wherein a circuit board is prevented from short-circuit caused by dust contained in exhaust, water intruded into a circuit board housing chamber, etc. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: a vacuum cleaner body 1 incorporating an electric blower 8 generating suction wind; the circuit board housing chamber 13 which is positioned so as to be isolated from the electric blower 8 in the vacuum cleaner body 1 and houses the circuit board 12 for control; and a drain hole 15 which is formed at the bottom surface of the circuit board housing chamber 13 and connected to the exhausting side of the electric blower 8. A lower surface on the side of the electric blower 8 of the drip hole 15 is covered with an air-permeable nonwoven fabric 16. Thus, in the case of sucking dust, the nonwoven fabric 16 covering the drip hole 15 removes the dust contained in the exhaust wind. Even when water intrudes into the circuit board housing chamber 13, the water can be drained gradually by making the water permeate the nonwoven fabric 16 through the drip hole 15, and the circuit board 12 is prevented from short-circuit, and thus the safety vacuum cleaner is provided.
