METHOD FOR BROADBAND HAND-OFF BETWEEN EACH OTHER WIRELESS COMMUNICATION NETWORKS BY USING SWITCHING FUNCTION OF COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL STACK, TERMINAL DEVICES AND RECORDING MEDIUM

A broadband handoff method between heterogeneous wireless networks using a communication protocol stack switching function and a recording medium for the same are provided to install a logical switching control layer in a terminal having more than two heterogeneous wireless communication functions so that broadband handoff can be achieved between heterogeneous wireless networks through the logical switching control layer which performs logical switching for an upper protocol layer and at least two lower protocol layers on the protocol stacks corresponding to the heterogeneous wireless communication functions. A terminal(100) having more than two heterogeneous wireless communication functions comprises a switching part(160), a network connection confirmation part(135), a communication network confirmation part(140), a handoff processing part(145), and a protocol control part(150). The switching part(160) executes logical switching for an upper protocol layer and the lower protocol layers corresponding to at least two heterogeneous wireless networks on the protocol stacks corresponding to the heterogeneous wireless communication functions. The network connection confirmation part(135) confirms whether a network connection is disconnected for the first wireless network, which is currently connected. The communication network confirmation part(140) confirms the second wireless network, which the terminal(100) will access, or access availability for the second wireless network. The handoff processing part(145) executes broadband handoff from the first wireless network to the second wireless network through a logical switching control layer. The protocol control part(150) selects and controls a communication protocol to process the broadband handoff between the first and second wireless networks.
