<p>A broadband handoff method between a wire communication network and a wireless communication network using a communication protocol stack switching function, a terminal, and a recording medium for the same are provided to access wire/wireless communication networks inexpensively by installing a logical switching control layer to perform logical switching for an upper protocol layer and at least two lower protocol layers on the protocol stacks respectively corresponding to a wire communication function and a wireless communication function. A terminal(100) having a communication protocol stack switching function comprises a switching part(160), a network connection confirmation part(135), a communication network confirmation part(140), a handoff processing part(145), and a protocol control part(150). The switching part(160) logically executes switching for an upper protocol layer, a lower protocol layer corresponding to at least one wire communication protocol, and a lower protocol layer corresponding to at least one wireless communication protocol on the protocol stacks corresponding to one or more wire/wireless communication functions. The network connection confirmation part(135) confirms whether a network connection is disconnected for the first communication network, which is currently connected. The communication network confirmation part(140) confirms the second communication network, that the terminal(100) can access, or access availability for the second communication network. The handoff processing part(145) executes broadband handoff to the second communication network from the first communication network through a logical switching control layer. The protocol control part(150) selects and controls a communication protocol to process the broadband handoff between the first and second communication networks.</p> |
