<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mitigate radiation event influence on a phase difference signal in a PLL circuit. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for mitigating single event effects, a phase difference signal from a phase-frequency detector 12 is added by an adder 40 through charge pumps 24 and 30, a resistive proportion loop filter 26, a capacitive integration loop filter 32 and bias generators 28 and 34 and fed back to the detector 12 through a VCO 14 and a frequency divider 16. The filter 26 scales and clips the influence out of the phase difference signal and the filter 32 attenuates the influence using capacitive characteristics. Since the phase difference signal is processed and coupled by different filter characteristics, a possibility for the PLL circuit to be out of a locked state because of unexpected influence is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
