<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable bidirectional wavelength multiple optical communication by using an existing optical transmission apparatus for unidirectional optical communication by unifying transmission path of an optical signal transmitted bidirectionally to one direction. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is constituted of a first optical signal processor 1C which performs prescribed optical signal processing for an upward optical signal, a second optical signal processor 1D which performs prescribed optical signal processing for a downward optical signal, a first branch 22A which branches the upward optical signal input through one optical transmission path 60e for bidirectional communication to the first optical signal processor 1C, and meanwhile, branches the downward optical signal from the second optical signal processor 1D to the optical transmission path 60e for bidirectional communication, and a second branch 23A which branches the downward optical signal input through the other optical transmission path 60f for bidirectional communication to the second optical signal processor 1D, and meanwhile, branches the upward optical signal from the first optical signal processor 1C to the other optical transmission path 60f for bidirectional communication. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
