<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device for a printing plate and an image recording method that can prevent an optical system from being damaged owing to peeling of a sheet type printing plate material from a drum which is rotating while holding the sheet type printing plate material on its outer peripheral surface. <P>SOLUTION: The image recording method is for forming an image by exposing the sheet type printing plate material held on the outer peripheral surface of the drum based upon image data from an optical section. The sheet type printing plate material is held on the outer peripheral surface of the drum, which is driven to rotate, and the optical section is moved from a standby position to a recording start position opposed to the drum after detecting that rotations of the drum driven to rotate become stable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
