<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink composition excellent in glossiness of a printed image for various recording medium, especially for the recording medium having glossiness, and also excellent in color development on ordinary paper and especially suitable for being used in an inkjet recording method, a method for performing the printing by using the ink composition and a recorded matter obtained by performing the printing by using the method of recording. <P>SOLUTION: This aqueous ink composition containing at least a pigment covered by a water-insoluble polymer, water and a water-soluble organic compound is provided by further containing a plasticizer.
