<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PON system along with a band control method, capable of controlling congestion that effectively uses uplink band in a PON section when a congestion occurs on a frame transfer device (GW) side connected to OLT. <P>SOLUTION: When an OLT which is connected to a plurality of ONUs in a passive optical network and is connected to a frame transfer device (GW) through a communication circuit receives a congestion occurrence report indicating an output port number in congestion from the GW, the discriminator of the ONU which is using the GW output circuit that has the congestion output port number is specified. The band control of PON section is switched from a normal band allocation mode to an ONU, to a band suppress mode in which the ONU having the specified ONU discriminator is allocated with a congestion time allowed band having less band than current one, while other ONUs are allocated with a band corresponding to a transmission queue length. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
