PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To capture an image of the heart by a helical scan with an X-ray CT apparatus having a two-dimensional area X-ray detector of a matrix structure represented by a multi-row X-ray detector or a flat panel X-ray detector, a variable-pitch helical scan or a helical shuttle scan at low exposure, a high speed and a high image quality. SOLUTION: The helical scan by the X-ray CT apparatus having the two-dimensional area X-ray detector of the matrix structure represented by the multi-row X-ray detector or the flat panel X-ray detector, the variable pitch helical scan or the helical shuttle scan is executed synchronous with the heart rate, biomedical signals, or external synchronous signals and captures the image of the heart with a single helical scan, variable-pitch helical scan, or helical shuttle scan so as to attain the low exposure, high speed, high image quality and low artifact.
