PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for driving an information recording medium with a built-in RFID tag, the device requiring no large antenna on an information recording medium, reducing the signal reading error, causing no deterioration of an RFID terminal to allow its long-term use and preventing an antenna, which communicates with the RFID, from restricting the motions and positions of an optical disk in a drive and pickup on the drive side; to provide a driving method therefor; to provide an information recording medium with a built-in RFID tag. SOLUTION: An RFID tag, which has an antenna built in a single IC chip, is provided in an information recording medium, and a second antenna, which transmits and receives radio waves to/from the antenna in the RFID tag, is provided in an information recording medium holding member which closely contacts the information recording medium.
