PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even a beginner to easily obtain appropriate composition or framing, using a simple constitution by making the best use of the characteristics of an electronic finder. SOLUTION: A photography control part 1 controls a display part 5 to display image information, captured by an imaging part 2 via a display driver 4. Here, a guide display control part 11 causes a guide pattern template as an auxiliary line prepared, in advance, to be imposed and displayed on the display screen of the electronic finder so as to refer to it at determining of the composition and the framing. If a grid pattern GT1, comprising vertical and horizontal lines, is used as a guide pattern used for the template, it can be utilized to obtain horizontality/verticality of a screen plane, when photographing documents or the like at a close distance, or when photographing a landscape or to grasp the size of a subject image, for comparing the relative sizes of various subject images in the screen plane.
