PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method and a communication apparatus by which security can be improved without exchanging special information for authentication, encryption or the like between apparatuses. SOLUTION: According to the communication method, on the side of a wireless terminal station 2a, a time-varying parameter T is generated from a frame number, a slot number or the like and an authentication code v(v=f(T)) is computed by a unique function f(t). On the side of a wireless base station 1, a time-varying parameter T is generated from a frame number, a slot number or the like and sa reference code v'(v'=f(T)) is computed by a unique function f(t). At the time of authentication, the authentication code v is transmitted from the wireless terminal station 2a to the wireless base station 1 and the reference code v' and the authentication code v are compared for performing authentication. By using common information which varies depending on the time such as the frame number, the slot number or the like as a parameter for authentication or generating an encryption key, security can be improved, communications traffic can be reduced, the apparatuses can be downsized and power consumption can be lowered.
