PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera whereby coloring with fidelity is reproduced on an external monitor. SOLUTION: The camera includes: an imaging element for imaging an object image; a video signal output means for outputting a video signal to an external display apparatus; a coloring regulation means for regulating the coloring of the video signal; and a control means that allows the video signal output means to output a reference signal, and allows the coloring regulation means to determine a coloring regulation amount on the basis of the reference signal and an image signal outputted from the imaging element for imaging an image of the external display apparatus (external monitor) during displaying of the video image by the reference signal.
