PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel, which suppresses gap unevenness due to temperature variation and display unevenness due to stress strain, and has a larger margin against gap variation, higher reliability to vibrations and a shock, and higher position precision of spacers, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel having liquid crystal sandwiched between a TFT substrate and a CF substrate is characterized in that a plurality of recessed parts 101 are formed on liquid crystal holding surfaces and light shield regions of the TFT substrate or/and CF substrate and a plurality of kinds of spherical spacers 103a and 103b differing in diameter are arranged in the recessed parts 101. Further, a plurality of kinds of recessed parts 101a and 101b differing in depth are formed on the liquid crystal holding surface and light shield region of the TFT substrate or CF substrate and spherical spacers 103 are arranged in the plurality of kinds of recessed parts.
