PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which can operate normally even against abrupt temperature variation. SOLUTION: A temperature data storing and acquiring circuit 3 measures temperature of a display body panel 1 in real time and stores measured temperature data. A CPU 41 acquires temperature history information from the temperature data storing and acquiring circuit 3, calculates a temperature varying speed, and judges whether the temperature varying speed exceeds a threshold. A drive command of a first drive mode when the threshold is not exceeded or a drive command of a second drive mode when the threshold is exceeded is output to a display body driving control circuit 44. In the first drive mode, contents are displayed. while in the second drive mode, a notice message is displayed. At this time, a picture is divided into a plurality of display areas and images in the plurality of display areas are rewritten according to a plurality of drive conditions different among the plurality of display areas.
