PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual inspection device for PTP (press through package) body, capable of surely detecting defects that are conventionally difficult to detect, such as dust adhering to pocket sidewall or to the circumferential surface of an inspection object. SOLUTION: The device comprises a carrying means for carrying a packaging sheet 81 with the opening part of the pocket part not covered with a cover film 84, after a tablet (inspection object) 83 has been put in a pocket part 82; a red light illumination means 1, disposed on the lower side of the packaging sheet 81 in the position of an inspection point set in a carrying passage, and illuminating the packaging sheet with a red-color region light; a blue light illuminating means 2 disposed on the upper side of the packaging sheet and illuminating the packaging sheet with a blue-color region light; an imaging means 3, disposed on the upper side of the packaging sheet and having a spectral sensitivity in a green-color region for imaging the packaging sheet 81 illuminated simultaneously by the red light illumination means 1 and the blue light illuminating means 2; and an image processor 4 for detecting the appearance abnormality of the PTP body by use of image data for a green component outputted from the imaging means.
