PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pit ladder device for an elevator capable of facilitating movement from a landing to a pit ladder. SOLUTION: The pit ladder device for the elevator is provided with the pit ladder 4 stored in a hoistway pit 2 and arranged so that a ladder lifting surface having a plurality of steps 5 is perpendicular to a landing entrance 1 surface on the lowest floor, a turning support part 6 disposed on a floor surface 3 of the hoistway pit and supporting an end of the pit ladder in such a manner of freely turning, and a ladder stopper member 8 disposed on the other end of the pit ladder in parallel to the step and moved to an landing entrance direction on the lowest floor and placed to be fitted on the landing entrance when being required.
