PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium conveying device controlling inversion of a recording medium with a tab without performing input work of a tab position and detection of the tab position by a large number of sensors and constituting a distance from a branch position of an inversion part to a reversing roller with the shortest length when the recording medium with the tab is inverted and conveyed. SOLUTION: The recording medium conveying device is provided with a first sensor 61 for measuring the length in a conveying direction of the recording medium, and the reversing roller 50 for reversing the conveying direction of the recording medium. The device includes: a reversing means for reversing the front and back sides of the recording medium and conveying it; a conveying means for conveying the recording medium led in from a lead-in passage in a reversing means direction and conveying the recording medium led out from the reversing means in a lead-out passage direction; a second sensor 62 arranged at a position capable of detecting an end of a portion measured with the length of the recording medium and detecting the end of the conveyed recording medium; and a control means for controlling reversing timing of the reversing roller based on the timing when the end of the recording medium is detected and the length in the conveying direction.
