PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application device which prevents the generation of the defects of coating film due to foreign matter attachment, enhances the uniformity of coating film and is capable of good film deposition in a spraying method. SOLUTION: In the application device 100 to form at least either one of layers among a charge generation layer, a charge transport layer and a covering layer on a cylindrical substrate 4, it is provided with a coating booth 1 to store the substrate 4, a substrate holding means to hold the substrate 4 in the coating booth, a sprayer gun 6 and a rectification mechanism 10 to uniformalize the air stream in the coating booth 1.
