PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard fence made of steel-plate-armored light weight foamed concrete capable of being installed within construction limits of line width, reducing costs by eliminating the need for assembling scaffolds under viaducts, and shortening the term of installation work. SOLUTION: The guard fence 1 made of steel-plate-armored light weight foamed concrete installed over right and left roadbeds 12 of a viaduct for upper and lower lines comprises a bottom surface 2 of a maximum width; an upper wall surface 3 of a minimum width; and bilaterally symmetric side wall surfaces 4 and 4 comprising both a lower gently inclined wall surface 4a and an upper steeply inclined wall surface 4b. The bottom surface 2 has a crossing recession groove 2a at a center part in its longitudinal direction. The bottom surfaces 2 on both sides of the recession grooves 2a are in a plane 7, and vibration absorption rubber plates 10 are arranged at lower parts of the plane 7.
