997,972. Variable buoyancy buoys. ELECTRICITE DE FRANCE, and GAZ DE FRANCE. Jan. 13, 1964 [Jan. 17, 1963], No. 1485/64. Heading B7A. A float having a buoyancy adapted to vary automatically as a function of its depth of immersion comprises a rigid envelope 1 and a flexible envelope 20 formed from an impermeable material in the shape of a bladder, situated within the rigid envelope, the envelopes defining two chambers, one being the bladder 20 which contains and permanently confines a buoyancy mass comprising an elastic fluid under a pressure equal to the hydrostatic pressure corresponding to a predetermined immersion depth, the second chamber being the rigid envelope 1 which comprises openings 32, 31, 33, 30, to allow the surrounding liquid to penetrate within the second chamber when the float is immersed beyond said predetermined depth, the float comprising an aperture 4 within the rigid envelope for inserting the flexible envelope 20, a closing piece 10 for closing the aperture, means 9, 8 for fixing said piece in the closing position, and at least one fastening means 5, 6 for fastening the rigid envelope to the closing piece. |
