The transmission has a combination of a stepped variable transmission with continuous variable transmission. The continuous variable transmission is implemented as cone pulley belt transmission. The coupling of a planetary gear with a chain variator is divided in two classes, that is, with input or output planetary gear set. In each of these two classes there are alternative arrangements of the multi-range transmission.
