<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter device that can be changed over from a remote mode to a local mode with no need to reset an operation signal even during operation, when the remote mode is changed over to the local mode. <P>SOLUTION: This inverter device includes a converter 1 that rectifies and smoothes an AC input voltage to output a DC voltage, an inverter 2 that converts a DC voltage of the converter into an AC voltage of a predetermined frequency and supplies it to an electric motor, and an operation portion 3 that outputs the operation signal from a selected local operation portion 8 or a remote operation portion 9 by selecting the local operation or the remote operation. The device can select either one of the local operation and remote operation from which the operation signal to the inverter is inputted.
