COLOR FILTER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter with high efficiency and high productivity, the color filter showing excellent characteristics in enlarging viewing field angles in oblique directions by optimum phase difference compensation in each pixel.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a color filter includes the steps of: forming barrier walls on a substrate; forming a plurality of colored pixel patterns having predetermined retardations among the barrier walls by a photolithographic method; forming alignment films subjected to an alignment process on the colored pixel patterns; and forming liquid crystal retardation layers on the alignment films by a photolithographic method corresponding to the respective retardations of the colored pixel patterns.
