PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a 1F inverting driving method, that a signal voltage of the same polarity is written to a signal line over 1F interval, so that cross-talk occurrence due to coupling can not be suppressed and shading occurs. SOLUTION: In an active matrix type liquid crystal display apparatus having a pixel array part 11 in which pixels 20 are arranged in a matrix form in two dimensions, while the pixel array part 11 is divided into a plurality of areas (two areas 11A and 11B in this example) in a vertical direction, the plurality of areas are vertically scanned by row (alternately in this example) sequentially and each pixel of the plurality of areas is selected by row and a video signal Vsig whose polarity is inverted for each 1H is written in each pixel of the selected row .
