PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tooth skipping preventive structure for a timing chain suitable for relaxing restriction caused by the layout of held objects in a chain case. SOLUTION: The tooth skipping preventive structure for the timing chain comprises a tip 10c disposed at the tip of a guide bracket 10 which is a bracket arm extended close to the lower part of a sprocket 7 fixed to a crankshaft 2 of an internal combustion engine while a base 10A is fixed to the front sidewall surface 21 of a cylinder block 1, and having a recessed part 10B of circular arc shape facing the lower part of the timing chain 7 or a timing belt wound around the sprocket 3 with a space narrower than the tooth height of the sprocket 3.
