PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission wherein a power roller is not rocked relative to a trunnion but the trunnion is rocked around one tilted bearing, and a contact form between a yoke and the trunnion during shift is improved to smooth the rocking of the trunnion. SOLUTION: In the toroidal continuously variable transmission, the power roller 11 which is is not rocked relative to the trunnion 15 passes through a center O" of the tilted bearing 30 mounted on a pivotal shaft 14 of the trunnion 15 and the trunnion 15 can be rocked around an axis parallel to the rotational center axis of the power roller 11. The end face of the trunnion 15 abutting on the yokes 23A, 23B is formed in circular shapes 15b, 15c. So, resistance is reduced on a contact face between the yoke and the trunnion to smooth the tilting motion (rocking) of the trunnion during shift and to smooth the transmission of the pushing force of an input side disc 2 on an output side disc 3.
